Homework Approach

At all middle school grades, students learn to reflect on the progress of their learning. This can take the form of a journal entry, a goal setting conversation, or discussion at a family conference. Homework reinforces student learning. It helps students to build on the content and skills from class. CWC Kansas City’s homework philosophy acknowledges the importance of students having the time to be with their families and to participate in extra-curricular activities. The amount of assigned homework is developmentally appropriate and varies according to grade level, project deadlines, and the individual student. Homework assignments may include reading, writing, revising, reviewing, and researching.
