If you are interested in joining our school community for the 2018-2019 school year (again, THIS current year), there are two ways to start the enrollment process:

    1. Click here to apply online
    2. Click here to download and complete a form in English or click here to download and complete a form en Español. Please submit completed paper enrollment forms to our office through any method listed on page 2 of the form.

If for any reason, a seat remains or becomes available, an offer of admission will be made to the next student on the waitlist for that grade level.

Frequently asked questions about the application process:

1. Do I have to live in a specific neighborhood to attend CWC Kansas City?

All children who reside within the Kansas City Public School District (KCPS) boundaries are eligible to enroll in CWC Kansas City’s schools. In the event CWC Kansas City receives more applications than there are available seats, a geographic preference will apply. To see a map of the preference area, please click here.

2. When is my paperwork due?

We are still accepting Request for Enrollment forms on a rolling basis for a limited number of seats in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade.  Please note, we are currently maintaining an active waitlist for 3rd Grade.  Otherwise, if a seat is available, an offer of admission will be made.  All dditional paperwork (accepting the offer and registration paperwork) will have specific deadlines and will be communicated with the offer.

3. How old does my child have to be to enroll in Kindergarten?

A student must be five (5) years of age before September 1 in order to enroll in Kindergarten of that year.  If your child has a September birthday, please contact our office.

4.  When can I enroll my child in the 2019-2020 school year?

Our application process for the 2019-2020 school year will open on December 1, 2018.  We do not have a wait list nor are we currently taking names; each incoming student must complete a 2019-2020 Request for Enrollment (available here, on December 1, 2018).

5.  What about siblings?

If you would like to enroll multiple students who are siblings (but none of them are currently enrolled CWC students), each incoming student must complete a Request for Enrollment.  The online process will automate much of the duplicate information.  Each student will have their own lottery weight and the same chance to be awarded a seat.  If the lottery awards one of them a seat, all associated siblings will automatically also be awarded seats.

If you already have at least one currently enrolled student and would like to enroll additional children for the following year, each additional incoming child will need to complete a separate Request for Enrollment and go through the lottery process to be awarded a seat.

6.  When my child transitions from the Primary Grades Campus to the Middle School Campus, will they need to go through the lottery process again?

No need.  As long as you complete each year’s re-enrollment paperwork by the deadline (usually February of the preceding year), your student’s seat will be guaranteed throughout their enrollment at CWC Kansas City - regardless of if their grade level promotion is simply grade-to-grade or also includes building-to-building.  A Kindergarten student who re-enrolls annually will have a guaranteed path to high school graduation and college readiness at CWC Kansas City.

However, if you decline an offer of admission, withdraw your student, and/or decline to re-enroll and later change your mind, you will need to re-submit a Request for Enrollment and go through the lottery process again with no weight given for prior enrollment.
