November 1, 2017 - Requests for Enrollment will be available and can be submitted.
There are two ways to start the enrollment process:
November 1, 2017 - February 23, 2018 - Requests for Enrollment will be accepted. During this time period, no preference or weight is given to earlier submissions, but we encourage you to complete a Request as soon as you can.
February 23th, 2018, 5pm - The "open enrollment" period ends. At this time, all eligible Requests will be considered for our lottery. All Requests for Enrollment received after this time will be placed on the wait-list in the order received.
If a grade level has fewer Requests than projected seats available, no lottery will be held; all eligible families will receive an offer of admission during the month of March 2018.
If a grade level has more Requests than projected seats available, a random, public lottery will be held. The following priorities will apply:
- Sibling of a CWCKC student
- Child of a CWCKC staff member
- Residents within our Geographic Preference area
- All other eligible families
Frequently asked questions about the application process:
1. Do I have to live in a specific neighborhood to attend CWC Kansas City?
All children who reside within the Kansas City Public School District (KCPS) boundaries are eligible to enroll in CWC Kansas City’s schools. In the event CWC Kansas City receives more applications than there are available seats, a geographic preference will apply. To see a map of the preference area, please click here.
2. When is my paperwork due?
For the 2018-2019 school year lottery, Requests for Enrollment need to be received before 5pm, February 23rd 2018. All additional paperwork (accepting the offer and registration paperwork) will have specific deadlines and will be communicated with the offer.
3. How old does my child have to be to enroll in Kindergarten?
A student must be five (5) years of age before September 1 in order to enroll in Kindergarten of that year. If your child has a September birthday, please contact our office.
4. When can I enroll my child in the 2019-2020 school year?
Our application process for the 2019-2020 school year will most likely open in early November 2018. We do not have a wait list nor are we currently taking names; each incoming student must complete a 2019-2020 Request for Enrollment (available in late 2018).
5. I have multiple children going to school; do I need to submit one application or multiple?
You will need to submit one application for each individual child. If you have two children interested in enrolling, please submit two separate applications - one for each.
